Dinner Time

"God our Father, we thank You, for our many blessings, ah ya men, ah ya men" she recited as if she understood what she was saying, nonetheless she was heard because of her innocent heart. "More ketchup please" she said with a grin as she swirled her fingers round and round her plate. Trying not to laugh as I watched her dip her greenbeans in her chocolate milk and after hearing "more ketchup please" for the fourth time, I conceded. What a softy I have become, I thought, but then I remembered that these moments pass so quickly.

There are only so many smiles that we will ever have and many frowns waiting to take their place. Laugh when you can, enjoy each heartfelt moment before it becomes just another memory.
