It was tiring as I thought long and hard about what direction to go next. Trying to figure out if I wanted to pursue my music career or not. Kassi was silently (doesn't happen very often) coloring at the kitchen table. I started talking to Amanda (my wife) about the questions on my mind and jokingly asked Kassi. "What do you think about me doing music Kassi?". She just simply said "God". I asked in a different way and she responded again with the same answer. Keep in mind that Kassi is 3 years old but her answer was exactly what I needed to hear.
It is funny how God speaks through people to keep you on the right track. Also, it is amazing that babies say exactly what they are thinking without hesitation. Sometimes that is a good thing. Don't think that you are too good to take advice from your baby girl :)

Dinner Time
"God our Father, we thank You, for our many blessings, ah ya men, ah ya men" she recited as if she understood what she was saying, nonetheless she was heard because of her innocent heart. "More ketchup please" she said with a grin as she swirled her fingers round and round her plate. Trying not to laugh as I watched her dip her greenbeans in her chocolate milk and after hearing "more ketchup please" for the fourth time, I conceded. What a softy I have become, I thought, but then I remembered that these moments pass so quickly.
There are only so many smiles that we will ever have and many frowns waiting to take their place. Laugh when you can, enjoy each heartfelt moment before it becomes just another memory.
